Operations Manager

Ms. Donna

Donna has been an Erie Resident for over 15 years and whose kids have been part of Exploring Minds Academy for 7 years.  She has a degree in Human Resources Management with a PHR Certification and has been an HR and Office Manager for 17 years.  Donna is also a returning employee working in Operations Management.  She works directly with the staff and parents to ensure the high quality of standards set forth by the schools directives are maintained.

She is married with 2 young daughters and loves working at the Facility with all the children and their parents. 


Ms. Sandy

Sandy has been in Early Childhood Education for 30 years. She has been a Prekindergarten teacher, Assistant Director, and has spent the last 20 years as a Director. Sandy is Director Qualified and has a degree in Early Childhood. She loves spending time with her family camping, fishing, and scrap-booking. You couldn't ask for a better job than seeing the smiles on the faces of children as they do something for the first time or accomplish a new task. She is very excited to be a part of the Exploring Minds team!

Assistant Director/School Age

Mr. Joao

Mr. John has his B.A. degree in Developmental Psychology as well as Early Childhood Lead Teacher Certification and Director Certification in the state of Colorado.  Mr. John has worked in the Early Childhood Education industry for over five years as both a PreK teacher and Kindergarten teacher.  Originally from Massachusetts, he has made a home of Colorado and it's beautiful weather and natural landscapes.  He has been at Exploring Minds Academy since October 2013.



Ms. Valerie

Valerie has worked in Early Childhood for many years, both running her in-home care to Early Childhood Centers. She received her Expanding Quality in Infant and Toddler Care Certification in 2011, allowing her to move into the Infant Nursery Supervisor role. Valerie has two grown children who live in Colorado. She loves to spend time with her kids as well as her cats and dogs. The spontaneous laughter and hugs from the wee little ones is what she finds most irresistible about children!


Ms. Kelly (Lead)

Ms. Kelly has been in the Early Childhood field for 8 years. She has worked with many different ages from infants to preschool. She is Early Childhood Teacher qualified and is currently taking an infant/toddler class to expand the quality in her Toddler room here at Exploring Minds Academy. Kelly has a daughter of her own. She enjoys spending time with family and visiting the mountains.

Ms. Regina

Ms. Regina has been working in Early Childhood for over 7 months. Prior to joining the Exploring Minds team Ms. Regina did volunteer work for Kindergarten classrooms in the Boulder Valley School District. She has always loved being around children of all ages. Ms. Regina has one daughter who has helped her love for children grow stronger! During her spare time, Ms. Regina loves to go fishing and spend quality time with her family, family is everything! She looks forward to spending time with your children and getting to know your family.

Ms. Lori - Lead

Ms. Lori has a degree in Elementary Education. She has worked as a Special
Needs Para Educator for 8 ½ years. She has taught Kindergarten and preschool.
Ms. Lori has also worked with children from infants to 12 years of age. Ms. Lori is very passionate about working with children. She is marries with 1 son, 3
stepchildren, and 3 grandchildren. She loves spending time with her family and

She sold her centers in 1992 to move to Colorado with her family. In 1997 she joined Seven Oaks Academy and became an equity partner in 2000 until 2005 when all centers were sold to Bright Horizons Family Solutions. She was offered the opportunity to become a partner in Exploring Minds Academy in 2008. She has her in BA Elem Ed/Spanish and a Masters in Ed, Diverse Learner. She is the mother of 4 grown children and grandmother of 9 wonderful grandchildren. She lives in Erie and loves that she can work and play in the same community.


Pamela Piekarski

Pamela is the owner and has been in early education since 1978 when she started as a Kindergarten Teacher in the Kansas City KS public schools. She opened her first private preschool in 1985 after she had her 3rd child and could not find quality early learning for her girls who were all under 5 years at the time.
